“Why” are we doing this?

Every now and then someone reminds you “Why” it’s important. This generally follows a question being asked. What if Karsyn was my child? This is the question that passed through my mind as Kathy explained what her daughter Karsyn has been going through since being diagnosed with MPS seven years ago. As Kathy spoke it became harder to breathe as I gazed at Karsyn wearing cool sunglasses tilted back in her wheelchair. The Wallace family are great people. I have the pleasure of doing business with Chad in another industry. After one of our meetings, we were talking about what we do outside of the office, which led to the discussion about family activities and CBD oil. Chad shared that […]

How Is CBD Made?

How is CBD Made? Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the many cannabinoids, or natural compounds, found in the hemp/cannabis plant. Cannabis/Hemp plants produce these trichomes, resins, cannabinoids, and other compounds naturally. Humans only extract and/or use these for a variety of uses and benefits. A lot of people mistakenly believe that hemp is the male version of marijuana, this is inaccurate. Hemp is not the ‘male’ version of cannabis. Hemp is a distinct genetic cultivar of cannabis, but it can exist as either gender, just like any other strain of cannabis. In fact, all cannabis belongs to the same genus and species, Cannabis sativa L. Some purists believe ‘indica’ is a separate species of cannabis, but this is not taxonomically […]

My Old Kentucky Home – Steady Hemp’n

Hemp is among the oldest industries on the planet, going back more than 10,000 years to the beginnings of pottery. The Columbia History of the World states that the oldest relic of human industry is a bit of hemp fabric dating back to approximately 8,000 BC. Early American Presidents Washington and Jefferson both grew hemp. In fact, Americans were legally bound to grow hemp during the Colonial Era and Early Republic.1 As a result, hemp has a long history in Kentucky. From its first recorded planting near Danville to its reemergence during World War Two, hemp has figured prominently in the economic, social, and political life of the commonwealth. Early settlers brought hemp into Kentucky in order to have a […]

Going Abroad? Finding Evercure CBD in Girdwood, Alaska

Yep, its my week again to BLOG. This time I am writing from a 30,000 ft view, literally, flying into Denver, Colorado to catch our relay to my Dreamworld. My family and I are taking a trip to Alyeska in Alaska. The goal is to cross off a long sought after (or thought after) “to-do” on my dreams sheet: gazing upon the northern lights in conjunction with snowboarding a bad ass mountain. The journey in my mind began several years ago when I googled “best places to view the northern lights”. Actually, I think it began in 1996 while listening to Jimmy Hendrix and blowing smoke rings. I knew Iceland and many other exotic locations would pop up. However, when […]

Hope IS NOT A Good Plan

Hope can be a wonderful thing. It can lift one’s spirits in tough times, inspire others, and in many cases can even have a physical effect on a persons health and well-being. Hope is a crucial emotional concept we humans possess. Hope makes for a terrible plan, however. Sometimes, it is all we have, and in those instances hope may be the only thing we can hold onto. But in times where we have an opportunity to look ahead and strategize for our future, choosing hope over planning equates to rolling the dice on your business.  I’m referring to the practice that many hemp growers have tried of growing a crop with the HOPE that the market will shift back […]

Owning the Cause – Todd’s Story

When I was a youngster my father worked for Brown & Williamson, one of the largest tobacco companies in the world, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. My mother was a kindergarten teacher and finished her career working with at risk (to put it lightly) children at Our Lady of Peace. I remember one day she came home with a broken nose because an 8 year old slugged her from across the half moon reading table with little chairs (do you remember those from elementary school, the ones with the cut out center so the teacher could sit close?) Guess that boy did not like my mother’s story time accents that she loves to read with. Growing up my parents were frugal, […]

Drying and Curing

Here at Evercure Farms we pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence in cannabis.  We start out growing the best strains and genetics, and we produce some of the best CBD flower.  Growing is only part of the battle; the other half is all about drying and curing properly.  Depending on the end product or result, drying and curing is one of the most crucial aspects.  Drying slow and consistently, as well as curing correctly ensures high quality product, even if you have to store some for a while.      We usually harvest our outdoor crop in late September to early October.  On harvest day we wait until afternoon.  This gives the plants time to dry after the dew in […]

OUR MONEY WHEEL: The RainFlo 1600 Transplanter

Here at Evercure Farms we selected the rain flo 1600 water wheel transplanter to plant our high quality strains of hemp due its universal application. The rain flo 1600 water wheel transplanter is a great piece of equipment for planting hemp clones. The water wheel transplanter is versatile allowing us to lay plants in covered raised beds and in subsoil conditions. We utilize 3 different wheels for planting, we use two wheels when planting in subsoil with a spacing of 36 inches between wheels and 36 inches between spikes located on wheels. The spikes puncture the ground four to five inches deep allowing hemp clones to be placed into ground gently and cover the roots mass with hydrated soil. When […]

What’s with the Clear Bottles?

When we decided to take some of our high quality hemp flowers and turn them into a finished product we researched the market. At that time back in 2018, the most widely used bottles were boston round amber bottles. These bottles were one ounce in size and super cheap to buy. As you may know the glass is tinted in these round bottles so you can not see the color or contents of the bottle at all. Knowing that we were going to bottle an illustrious golden distillate rather than a dirty raw extract we wanted consumers to see the quality of our Evercure CBD oil. We also decided it was important to provide our customers with a graduated or […]

The FIVE W’s to Watering

“No water, no life. No blue, no green” – Sylvia Earle I’m sure everyone knows a little something about watering, but we all have our own idiosyncrasies on ways of doing it. Here at Evercure farms, we take pride in all that we do and watering plays a HUGE part in our day to day life. As we all know, water is essential when it comes to maintaining life on earth, thus why it is so important. Plus, without water, there would be no corn, therefore no bourbon. Yikes! Could you imagine? Kentuckians love their bourbon. Almost as much as we love our cannabis! Without a consistent water supply, we would have no cannabis…therefore no CBD oil. I’m not even […]

The Evercure Greenhouse Journey with Tips?

After purchasing our RX Cherry Hemp clones for three seasons from another local greenhouse operator we decided it was DIY time. After completing the last phase of our 17 acre grow on Evercure Farms, Mike and Adam went to work overhauling the skeleton of a greenhouse. The old hoop house was 35 X 90 with over 3,000 s.f. Of grow space and 12 ft ceiling at the apex. This greenhouse in its heyday was the birthplace of 12-13 varieties of organic vegetables and tobacco starts that Les Synder grew organically. Lyle, Lee, and Mike all made a trip to Liberty, KY pulling a trailer behind the truck. After a few hours visiting Lester in the Amish supply house, they were […]

What is the biggest cash crop in Kentucky? It’s not Hemp…Yet

Many farmers are finding out that hemp is unlike any other conventional crop out there. You must make a market for it yourself or you lose. There are no exchanges that work to provide the farmer a just compensation to justify going through another season! Trading platforms may one day prove viable…they are not there yet. As my partner Lyle once said, “If you want to know what it feels like to be a hemp farmer, give me $50,000 and let me kick you in the nutts”. It’s really not that bad and we have made many gains. Lyle’s point still holds true, anyone in this game will take some knocks as we work with others to create the industry. […]

How to Harvest Hemp?

This year it took 8 pairs of loppers, 29 family and friends, gloves, signature shirt, good food, and cheer! We cut 1,100 in 2 hours in time for a late lunch. This year’s boutique harvest was a snack compared to 50,000+ clones harvested in 2019. We grow for the smell of it. Take a whiff outside our farm in the fall and find yourself smiling. The harvest process is rather simple. We put small teams together. The first team focuses on cutting the plants. Using hand loppers the plants are cut as low as possible just above the soil line to avoid taking off branches and keeping the plant with all its buds as one unit to retrieve from the […]

What is that BROAD SPECTRUM CBD OIL? (THC is Non-Detectable)

In general, broad spectrum CBD oils contain up to three major cannabinoids found in hemp plants, while full spectrum oils contain five or more. The process of removing the THC from a full spectrum distillate may leave traces of THC. However, any trace that remains is less than 0.10 percent and 99.99% NON-DETECTABLE by conventional lab equipment. As a result of THC levels being minuscule, the industry references such products as “THC Free”. Evercure products are third party lab tested for integrity. Please visit the resource page on to reference these lab reports. How was it made? Our Evercure CBD 900mg Broad Spectrum Oil was made from 250 lbs of the sweetest cola buds grown on our family farm in […]
